The Sinners Prayer
In Acts 16:30, a man asks, "What must I do to be saved?"
Acts 16:31 gives us the answer: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...(Romans 10:9).
2nd Peter 3:9: The Lord is not willing that any should perish... "ANY" means you and me...everyone!
So, what must I do to be saved? We need to understand the meaning of "saved". Saved comes from the Greek word "sodzo"
which means "delivered". Delivered from what?
What was the Philipian jailer in Acts 16 wanting to be saved from? Was it the earthquake? No, that was already over, was it from his superiors for letting the prisoners escape? No, they never escaped! Then what?
Let's let an angel answer this question; When an angel announced the birth of Christ to Joseph, he said "thou shall call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21).
To be saved is to be "delivered" from sin!
"Whosoever calls upon the Lord shall be saved" (Joel 2:32,
John 11:26, Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13, 1st John 4:15).
Won't you call upon the Lord today, right now? Will you ask Him to deliver you from sin?
Pray the following prayer, then seek out a Pastor,Christian friend, attend a church, that can help you in your new life (2nd Corinthians 5:17)
Heavenly Father, I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess with my mouth, and believe with all my heart, that Jesus is your Son. That He died on the cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead, and I ask you right now to come into my life and be my personal Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins, and will worship you all the days of my life. Because your Word is thruth. I confess with my mouth that I am born again and cleansed by the blood of Jesus! In Jesus' name, Amen!
If you have prayed this prayer, and truly believe the words you have prayed, then, Praise the Lord! You have been saved! and your name will appear in the Lambs Book of Life!
